Qualifications: 5+ years of buying/merchandising experience in a fashion driven, textile-related environment; the specific fabric/textile/soft lines background may include home décor, seasonal, or apparel (ladies, men, boy, girl, infant, toddler, domestics); four-year degree is preferred; competence with Microsoft Office is necessary; the independent drive of an entrepreneurial merchant; the ability to accurately forecast trends; experience in building an attractive retail store product category selection; ability to be a strong partner and teammate with marketing and store operations departments; understand fabric, particularly cotton fabric; strong knowledge of fabric for the quilting industry; must know the financials – margins, open to buy, etc.
